Miyuki Hirabayashi

Born in Tokyo, Japan

In 1968 she was granted a scholarship by the Government of France and went to study in the University of Paris. There she married an American who lived in Caracas. In 1973 she went to live in Venezuela.

She has dedicated the past 20 years of her life to teaching the Japanese Language courses of the Japanese Embassy. Thousands of Venezuelan students interested in the language and culture have been through her classroom.

She works in the Dojo of SUKYO MAHIKARI in Caracas. During her free time she receives any person wishing to get a purification (Divine Light) in her home offering the Mahikari Art of laying of the hands.

In 2006 she was awarded with the recognition “Honorary Diploma of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan”

She wrote the book “Bonds between Mother and Children” to give to her daughter Mai as a wedding present when she got married in Japan.

The work relates episodes of her life when the children were small and of the importance of the bonds between parents and children; it compiles letters exchanged between mother and daughter and abstracts from Mai’s diary written during her school years.
