| Ambassador's Foreword |
Remarks by His Excellency Mr. Yasuo Matsui, Ambassador of Japan, on the occasion of the publishing of the book “Bonds between mother and children” written by Prof. Miyuki Hirabayashi
In 1986, Professor Miyuki Hirabayashi started working as a teacher in the Japanese Language Course of the Embassy of Japan, the current Japanese Association Course in Caracas. Since then, and over 20 years, she has been teaching the Japanese language to many Venezuelan students. Her enthusiastic way of teaching and her devotion as an educator, have allowed the course to develop so much that it has become the most-ttended Japanese course in Venezuela. More over, we can assert in view of its importance, that her course is a reference for all the educational Japanese language activities in the country. Prof. Hirabayashi´s effort to spread the Japanese language is truly outstanding. Likewise, Prof. Hirabashi´s work has not strictly been directed to the teaching of the language, she has also actively promoted Japanese culture. Her contribution to the training of Venezuelan friends and connoisseurs of Japan is of utmost importance. Mr. Taro Aso, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, has given recognition to the noteworthy merits of Prof. Miyuki Hirabayashi, hence on July 10th 2006, she was awarded the “Chancellor Recognition” honor. With the certainty that the book “Bonds between mother and children” written by Prof. Miyuki Hirabayashi, will contribute to the strengthening of the friendship between Japan and Venezuela, I wish to convey to our dear professor, my wish for professional and personal growth and happiness.
Yasuo Matsui
